Use the same code shown in the video.
Animated Download Button with Progress Microinteraction is a polished frontend UI component built with pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
The interaction starts as a modern dark download button with a glowing cyan download icon. When the button is clicked, the label smoothly transforms into an animated progress experience instead of instantly switching to a loading state.
The word “Download” compresses and melts into the progress track, while a glowing progress bar begins filling across the button. A live percentage indicator updates from 0% to 100%, giving the interaction a realistic download-style feel.
Once the progress sequence reaches 100%, the component transitions into a completed state. The download arrow disappears, an animated green checkmark takes its place, the ambient glow changes from cyan to green, and the button displays “Downloaded” as the final confirmation.
Clicking the completed button resets the entire component back to its original state, allowing the interaction to be replayed without refreshing the page.
The design uses a dark modern interface with soft depth, subtle shadows, glowing cyan highlights, green success feedback, inline SVG icons, and smooth CSS transitions. The result is a satisfying microinteraction that can be adapted for download buttons, export actions, file-generation workflows, reports, attachments, dashboards, and other interfaces where users need clear visual feedback.
The component also includes lightweight sound feedback created directly in JavaScript with the Web Audio API. Different synthesized sounds are used for button presses, label transformation, progress updates, successful completion, and reset feedback.
No external audio files are required.
No third-party JavaScript framework, CSS framework, icon library, or animation package is required. The entire component runs as a standalone HTML file using browser-native technologies.

How It Works
The component uses a simple four-state interaction flow: Idle, Animating, Completed, and Resetting.
In the idle state, the user sees the standard Download button.
When clicked, the button enters the animation state. The initial label compresses toward the progress track while the cyan ambient glow becomes stronger.
The label then disappears into the progress groove and the progress bar begins filling. JavaScript updates both the width of the progress bar and the percentage displayed beside it.
The progress sequence uses predefined milestones and requestAnimationFrame to create smooth movement instead of jumping directly from 0% to 100%.
At completion, the cyan download state changes into a green success state. The download icon fades away, the checkmark animates into view, the progress information disappears, and the Downloaded label is revealed.
Clicking the completed button starts the reset sequence and restores the original Download state.
Sound Design
The interaction includes browser-generated UI sounds using the Web Audio API.
Sound feedback is provided for:
• Initial button press
• Download-label transformation
• Progress updates
• Successful completion
• Reset interaction
The sounds are generated using oscillators and gain nodes, which means no MP3, WAV, or other audio files are needed.
Customization
The main colors and dimensions are controlled using CSS variables, making the component easy to customize.
You can change the cyan download accent, green success color, background, button width, button height, border radius, progress-track dimensions, animation timing, shadows, and glow intensity.
The inline SVG download and checkmark icons can also be replaced with your own icons without adding an external icon library.
The JavaScript progress sequence can be replaced with real application progress when integrating the component into a production project.
